"Midvliet is a non-profit news media organization situated in Leidschendam, The Netherlands. I joined during the latter of 2023 as a volunteer media designer."
Utilizing a broad skillset, I was able to aid in progress of many pending projects, most touched base on many disciplines including primarily graphic design for printing, branding and spatial design.
I employed many aspects, including photoshop, 3D and more in order to create strong referential representations of both media and spatial designs. This provided unique challenges to realize speculative digital designs to real-life.
With Midvliet's moving to a new location in a new empty office, changes were required to fit with the interior design of the brand. To aid in creating visual representations, allowing colleague's and leadership to have a visual feedback to concepts of idea's, I developed conceptual representations of potential interior designs.
I began with tracing over building schematics, applying visual elements to replicate the current bland status (see 3rd image) after which adding models and materials to finalize the proposal. In turn, this was used to brainstorm what applies and is wanted.
With the moving to a new location, branding was necessary to create recognizability from the street view, adding into the visual composition of the main street.
For that, I proposed the concept of the front door as seen above using photo's and Google Street View to recreate the front door in a rudimentary setup.
Additionally, using an unique idea for the doorknob being in the shape of the organization's logo.
During the month of May an unique event in the town of Leidschendam is hosted specifically tailored for non-profit organization to recruit new talent, a volunteer market. Midvliet wanted to represent in this event, gearing the marketing towards interested youth.
For this, posters were required. Based on previous conceptual posters, I created an array of marketing/recruiting posters to be printed and handed out at the event.
This also required a loop-able video showcasing varied Midvliet work to generate appeal and attract new talent.
Social media's are a main tool through which Midvliet communicates to its audience base, especially local populus in its municipalities it works in - Leidschendam, Voorburg and Stompwijk. Due to recent changes, a new Facebook banner was required to feature and include representations of these municipalities, most effective being well-known architectures and buildings. For this, I was tasked to rebuild the banner to include updated buildings. I was given reference of the previous iteration, but decided to recreate the entire banner for ease-of-use and adaptability.
In the spirit of further rebranding, current branded microphones are aging and of poor quality due to frequency of usage in the past years, new updated editions are required to upkeep brand image of the microphones windshields.
