Description

This is the message this project deals with, it's a theme I'm heavily passionate about and want to explore in a cinematic method. Aiming to create a short animated 3D short that introduces and discusses this philosophical matter by pitting the two polar opposites against one another to create an interesting juxtaposition in a debate. The animation is a tool, the real core hides behind the visuals and is engineered to spark debate and conversation about this topic.

The year is unknown, a single lost human colony ship drifts aimlessly through unknown space. Inside is a lone surviving crewmate, Dave, in solidarity. His journey takes a drastic turn when a possible habitable planet appears in close proximity. Unfortunately, fate has a different plan when the ship is intercepted by unknown intruders. After being captured, Dave is confronted with humanity, a different humanity. He calls them monsters, even alien.

In this project, I am the director and creator. The full movie will be about 4-5 minutes and be created in Cinema 4D and After Effects and be produced in a full-on production workflow pipeline. In the end, the product will be showcased in a premiere showing at the cinema room as well as have copious amounts of promotional posters hung up around the school.

Thus, this project will embody my ambitions and style as an artist. I wanted to create a feeling of adventure and immerse the viewer in this fictional sci-fi world that I am creating. To create an engaging and believable scenario despite the fictional and obviously fake world of the animation. Adding to that, I wanted to add a lot of imagery and metaphors(some more on the nose then others).
